Heavy and Stinky
This vacuum is the heavy and awkward to push around--I have owned other vacuums, and never had any trouble pushing one before. It sucks up dust and dog hair okay, but leaves the room in a terrible dusty smell (i.e. you cannot vacuum without having the windows open for a day--not practical in winter or summer). It smells like it shoots out as much dust as it sucks in. We have only had this machine for 6-7 months--it was smelling bad almost after 1 month--even with trying to clean it out between uses. I am not happy with this purchase.
Hoover vac
I always do my homework before a purchase. I knew Hoover's are loud so no complaints. They really aren't way out of line there. That's the price of a strong suction. I too disagree with the negative reviews. This is a powerful vacuum cleaner that does a thorough job picking up pet hair and everything else it is designed for. I don't notice any dust blowing around or any obnoxious odor if I put all the filters back after cleaning and properly seating the removeable debris holder. If those components aren't installed correctly then dust blowing can occur. It isn't hard to push around and my wife and I are in our mid 70's (yes, I am a male vacuumer). Homework also reveals the weight so no problem there either. Other than normal wear the belts last as long as comparable vacuums. Of course if I mis-use it then they won't. By that I mean running over rug tassles, toys, etc. It is not designed to accomodate those items. I recommend this and I only paid $79. I knew what I was buying! Can't...
Don't buy!!!!
This vacuum is horrible. It overheats during a routine vacuuming and shuts off. It sucks up dog hair, but the hair gets trapped in the hose. I've had it for a little over a year and it's stopped working.
