Shark Navigator Upright Bagless Vacuum with Premium Pet Accessories, Nv22lwm

Wanted to like it but it failed me
I was impressed with other Shark products enough to buy this vacuum to replace an Oreck. First of all this vacuum weighs more than the Oreck and has a smaller head and is noisier, but to its credit, costs less. As another reviewer said, the true test of this vacuum is whether it will last more than 13 months. Well, it is just shy of 7 1/2 months and this vacuum just died. It was preceded by a very loud sound coming from the motor but was not the result of running over or trying to pick up any large objects. It happened with normal use. When calling the customer service, it was obvious I was talking to Asia. The person belabored the fact that I needed to be sure that the electricity was working in my house. He then informed me that I'd need to ship it insured, all at my expense to N.C., and then spend $16.99 to have it fixed despite its alleged 5 year warranty. Sorry, but this product just doesn't last with normal use and their warranty and customer service leave much to be desired...

Compact, lightweight, with decent suction
Our last vacuum cleaner gave up the ghost a while ago - we picked up this one as a replacement at the big "C" store yesterday and gave it a test run around the apartment.

Pros:
- Small head size allows it to get into tight spaces easily.
- Lightweight, easy to pick up and maneuver as required.
- Good suction, didn't leave anything obvious on the floor.
- Comes with a number of different attachments.
- Easy to empty (but small dust chamber).

Caveats:
- Assembly is a bit awkward. The hose and electrical cable didn't play well together.
- We only used this on carpeted floors, so your mileage may vary with hardwood or tile.

All together, I'm pretty pleased with the purchase and have no intention of returning it.

Don't get ripped off by "Deluxe"
Costco sells the "Deluxe" for $129. The price on this tells you all you need to know - move on.

4-star vac, but paying $200 for it as asked in this listing is crazy so it only gets 1-star. Search amazon for a better listing.

"Deluxe Edition" Shark Navigators? Like the NV22L with a 7yr warranty vs. 5yr and extra accessories (e.g. a "Premium" Pet Power Brush).

Upright Models:
X "NV22L" (Lavender) with all the attachments.
X "NV22T" (Blue) previously sold at Walmart does NOT have the attachments (they now stock the NV22L)
X There is a red "NV26" that swiveled at the base like the liftaway which was sold at Kohls
X There also used to even be a green (teal) one too

As for choosing a Shark? It's a great choice for most people that pick it. The Shark Navigator (by Euro-Pro) is one of the best reviewed vacs out there.
